Students traveled to the museum during their history blocks to listen to a presentation by Dr. Jim Robusto and to see Mitchell's famous map. Students then wrote essays describing the legacy of John Mitchell. Dr. Robusto attended class periods to answer questions and assist students with organizing and preparing their essays.

On March 1st, twenty-two St. Clare Walker Middle School students competed in the Tidewater TSA Regional Fair, held at Grassfield High School in Chesapeake, Virginia. Middle and high school student members competed in more than 30 competitive events based on principles and concepts learned through projects during the school year in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects.
We are very proud of our students' success!
It is now time to prepare for Technosphere, the state competition for Virginia. Technosphere will be held in Hampton Virginia on May 1st – May 4th. Students who placed in the top three in their events at the regional fair, and top five in their events at the fall competition, will compete against other TSA finalists from around the state. TSA members will also get the opportunity to compete in new events that were not available at the regional fair.
Mr. Matthew Short, TSA advisor and Mrs. Marsha Jedlinski, assistant TSA advisor for St. Clare Walker Middle School, are proud of the many accomplishments by the students.
